Guidance Services

Student meeting with Jessica Moran of guidance staff

Recognizing the challenges our young women face as they move into adulthood, we provide a variety of services that support our students throughout their years at SDA.

In addition to extensive preparation for and support through the college admission process, we have a full-time Student Assistance and Family Counselor, Vivian Ferraro, who provides confidential professional assistance to students and their families. Ms. Ferraro works with them to address problems that affect their personal lives or school success.

In addition to group sessions dealing with self-esteem issues and the transition to high that all freshman are required to participate in, individual crisis counseling is provided when necessary for any student, either voluntary or through referral. Follow-up and after-care support can also be provided for students in in-patient or out-patient programs.
